Dr. Dresner's contributions to patients, Eyesthetica, USC, and the ophthalmic community were vast. His clinical acumen in managing complex reconstructive and cosmetic patients was unparalleled. He cared deeply about the whole patient, often discussing the benefits of plant-based diets during surgical consultations.
His contributions to our Eyesthetica team, as well as his role in training sixteen ASOPRS fellows and scores of residents, were immeasurable. Training residents and fellows in the art of oculofacial surgery was a highlight of his career. He was the consummate teacher. Dr. Dresner also developed the transconjunctival entropion repair, a nomogram for Conjunctival-Mueller’s Muscle Resection and the modified Fasanella-Servat procedure using a widely used custom ptosis clamp that he designed. He also created orbital implants for use in anophthalmic sockets. In aesthetic surgery, he was one of the first advocates of orbicularis-sparing blepharoplasty, and he championed midface-lifting in the treatment of cicatricial ectropion resulting from overzealous lower eyelid blepharoplasty or complex reconstructions.
Dr. Dresner's legacy will live on through his many contributions to the field, the fellows he trained and the countless lives he touched.
This fund was established to support the training and education of future oculofacial and orbital surgery fellows in Dr Dresner’s honor.
